SUMMARY:Chalk Fest
DESCRIPTION:The sidewalks of downtown Ravenna will become a colorful canvas created by artists. Painters of ALL ages will be working to create their incredible works of art.\nSaturday\, September 11\, 2021 (Rain Date Sunday\, Sept 12) Noon –3pm. Judging begins at 2:30pm. CASH PRIZES for both adult and children categories.\nBring your family a friends to create art in the company of others while social distancing.\nSidewalk painters are assigned a square on a first come\, first serve basis. A basic chalk kit and blending materials are provided. We recommend bringing knee-pads\, sunscreen and a hat. All artwork must be suitable for public viewing. No words or symbols intended as advertising may appear within the image: however you may sign your name. If your square is sponsored\, the sponsors name will appear above the space. Sidewalk artists agree that work done in conjunction with this festival may be reproduced by photograph or video and used by the Ravenna Parks and Recreation Department for promotional purposes. Artists need to check in before 12:30pm.

Judging begins at 2:30pm\nBring your family a friends to create art in the company of other artists\, musicians and art lovers.  The celebration centers on Madonnari street painting\, an art form dating back to 16th century Italy\, where street painters created works of art in front of cathedrals to pay homage to the Virgin Mary.\nSidewalk painters are assigned a square on a first come\, first serve basis.  A basic chalk kit and blending materials are provided.  We recommend bringing knee-pads\, sunscreen and a hat.  All artwork must be suitable for public viewing.  No words or symbols intended as advertising may appear within the image: however after the judging is complete you may sign your name.  If your square is sponsored\, the sponsors name will appear above the space.   Sidewalk artists agree that work done in conjunction with this festival may be reproduced by photograph or video and used by the Ravenna Parks and Recreation Department for promotional purposes.  Artists must check in before 12:30pm to avoid their square being given away. All COVID precautions will be taken. You may be notified if staggered start times are needed.
