The individual is recognized as someone who has demonstrated over and beyond leadership and/or service in Ravenna over a period of several years. The individual should be seen as someone of high character and someone who would honorably represent the spirit of the award. \n\n\nVOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR\n\n\nAn individual or group who goes above and beyond\, exemplifying the true potential of how volunteers make a difference in the Ravenna area community in 2019 & 2020. \n\n\nCITIZEN OF THE YEAR\n\n\nAn individual\, who in the spirit of community service\, demonstrates exceptional leadership and initiative in their efforts to support the betterment of the Ravenna area community in 2019 & 2020. \n\n\nNEW CONSTRUCTION\n\n\nRecognition for new construction of a building or public structure in the Ravenna area\, completed in 2019 & 2020. \n\n\nNEW RENOVATION\n\n\nRecognition for interior or exterior renovation of a building or public structure in the Ravenna area\, completed in 2019 & 2020. \n\n\nNEW BUSINESS IN 2019 & 2020\n\n\nWe believe that any and all businesses should be recognized and appreciated for making Ravenna their home for their new business. This award will recognize any NEW businesses opened in 2019 & 2020. \n\n\n\n\nNominations may be submitted by any individual\, group or business residing\, working\, or doing business in the Ravenna area community. SUMMARY:Chalk Fest
DESCRIPTION:The sidewalks of downtown Ravenna will become a colorful canvas created by artists. Painters of ALL ages will be working to create their incredible works of art.\nSaturday\, September 11\, 2021 (Rain Date Sunday\, Sept 12) Noon –3pm. Judging begins at 2:30pm. CASH PRIZES for both adult and children categories.\nBring your family a friends to create art in the company of others while social distancing.\nSidewalk painters are assigned a square on a first come\, first serve basis. A basic chalk kit and blending materials are provided. We recommend bringing knee-pads\, sunscreen and a hat. All artwork must be suitable for public viewing. No words or symbols intended as advertising may appear within the image: however you may sign your name. If your square is sponsored\, the sponsors name will appear above the space. Sidewalk artists agree that work done in conjunction with this festival may be reproduced by photograph or video and used by the Ravenna Parks and Recreation Department for promotional purposes. Artists need to check in before 12:30pm.
